Ashley is one of my sister’s best friends from Boston College and I was so excited and honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding day. She’s originally from the west coast, went to college on the east coast and has studied to become a surgeon a bunch of places in between so a “destination” wedding only made sense when thinking about bringing together their friends from all over the country! Ashley and Brian chose the beautiful Folktale Winery in Carmel, California for their wedding day, just 15 minutes from the stunning and jaw dropping Big Sur, where we were able to take their wedding portraits!
I am not a destination wedding photographer, but I of course made an except for Ashley and Brian and even though it required leaving Maddie for basically the first time, I was 20-weeks pregnant and it was a cross country flight that turned into a 36 hour journey due to a canceled connection – it was MORE than worth it to capture this special day for them! Every single family member and guest I encountered treated me like family, everyone was SO nice and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The day was absolutely beautiful from beginning to end (I mean, I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves there) and let’s just say it would be hard to pass up another California coast wedding because wow the light on the west coast is something else! Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do and congrats again to Ashley & Brian!!!
